For elderly participants in senior job programs, safety education on heat-related illness prevention during the hot season was provided.

During the hot season of July and August, efforts are being made to prevent safety accidents by shortening senior job activity hours and minimizing outdoor activities.

Preliminary inspections of air conditioners and fans in the homes of elderly customized care recipients were conducted. There are plans to provide items such as cooling towels, masks, and neck coolers.

For 169 daycare centers, cooling costs were supported last May, ranging from 480,000 KRW to a maximum of 900,000 KRW per child to maintain constant cooling conditions.

Support such as bottled water distribution and emergency meal box provision is being provided to street homeless people and the homeless facility ‘Didimbil’.

Additionally, the on-site response teams in eup, myeon, and dong districts have been strengthened to maintain a system that allows immediate reporting upon discovering homeless individuals.

A city official stated, “We will strive to protect the safety and health of heatwave vulnerable groups and minimize damage caused by the heatwave,” and added, “We ask elderly people and those with chronic diseases to pay extra attention to their health during the summer.”
