"No Direct Flights but to Korea"... Korea Tourism Organization Attracts 109 Group Tourists from Kenya Incentive Trip

The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 27th that it has attracted 109 incentive group tourists from Vasco Paints, a paint manufacturing company in Kenya. Although small incentive groups of around 20 people from Kenya visited Korea before the pandemic, this is the first time that more than 100 tourists have been attracted.

In particular, the Tourism Organization explained that it is significant that Korea was chosen as an incentive travel destination despite the long distance and the absence of direct flights between Kenya and Korea.

Employees of Vasco Paints departed from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, transited through Doha, Qatar, and arrived in Korea on the 22nd. They plan to stay until the 28th. They will experience activities such as Gyeongbokgung Hanbok experience, Han River cruise, and Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) tour, and on the 27th, they plan to visit Bongeunsa Temple and Hongdae.

Jung Chang-wook, head of the MICE division at the Korea Tourism Organization, said, "It is especially meaningful as this Kenyan incentive group visited this year, following the first-ever Korea-Africa summit held in Korea last June and the 60th anniversary of Korea-Kenya diplomatic relations." He added, "To diversify the inbound incentive market, which is mostly dominated by nearby markets such as China and Southeast Asia, we will continue to spare no effort in promoting and supporting long-distance markets."
