Gyeonggi Province has selected five new routes for metropolitan public buses.
On the 25th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it recently held the Gyeonggi Province Bus Policy Committee meeting and finalized five new metropolitan public bus routes within the province for this year.
The newly selected routes are ▲ Suwon City (Suwon Station~Uman-dong~Gyeonggi University~Pangyo) ▲ Pocheon City (Kyungbok University~Pocheon City Hall~Daejin University~Daebang Apartment~Byeollae Station) ▲ Hwaseong City (Dongtan 1~Giheung Dongtan IC~Hwarang Park~Geumto Cheongyo~Pangyo Station) ▲ Yangju City (Deokjeong Station~Hoecheon New Town~Okjeong New Town~Byeollae Station) ▲ Pyeongtaek City (Samsung Electronics~Godeok International New Town~Songtan Area~Jinwi Station~Pangyo Station~Yatap Station).
Earlier, on March, Gyeonggi Province received applications for 13 new routes from nine cities and counties, and among them, five routes were finally selected.
The five selected routes will begin operation in June next year after selecting operators through bidding and preparing for service commencement.
Kim Sang-su, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Transportation Bureau, said, "We expect that the opening of new routes will greatly improve transportation convenience for residents," adding, "We will continue to expand metropolitan public buses to enhance the quality of life for residents."
