The ‘Seryu-dong Haeng Center,’ a key facility of the urban regeneration project in Seryu-dong, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, will break ground at the end of June.
The Seryu-dong urban regeneration project was selected in 2019 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s public contest and will implement various initiatives according to the urban regeneration activation plan, including ▲ establishment of the Seryu-dong Haeng Center ▲ creation of the Seryu-dong Haeng Yard ▲ establishment of the Alley Commercial District Exchange Center ▲ development of a women-friendly safe village ▲ improvement of the Seryu-dong Haeng Road ▲ and renovation of aging residential environments.
The Seryu-dong Haeng Center, which is set to begin construction, will be built at 976-1 Seryu-dong, Suwon-si, with a scale of two basement floors to three above-ground floors and a total floor area of 4,587.11㎡. The project budget is 17 billion KRW.
Kim Tae-su, Director of the Urban Regeneration Division of Gyeonggi-do, stated, "The Seryu-dong Haeng Center will provide multipurpose sports facilities, care facilities, and cultural and welfare spaces by complexifying the existing public parking lot site. It will also solve the shortage of parking spaces and improve the residential environment by constructing a two-basement-level public parking lot underground." He added, "This is expected to contribute to improving residents’ quality of life and revitalizing the local community."
