Andersen Theater in Gijang-gun to Host 'Storytelling Wizard Grandma' Event for Children

Children Gathered on Stage Listening to Old Stories

Gijang-gun, Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok), will present the play "The Storytelling Wizard Grandma" as its June performance at Andersen Theater (Jangan-eup, Jangan-ro) starting from the 24th.

"The Storytelling Wizard Grandma" is a performance designed for young children. This show introduces a unique concept where a wizard grandma tells fairy tales in front of a fireplace.

Instead of sitting in the audience, the children gather together on stage, immersing themselves in the performance as they listen to stories that begin with "Back in the days when tigers used to smoke..." just like the tales grandmothers used to tell by the old brazier.

The performance will run for seven days from June 24 to 30, with group viewings at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on weekdays, and general admission at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. on weekends.

The show is free for children aged 1 to 3 and their guardians. Due to the participatory nature of the play, where children join on stage, each session is limited to around 40 attendees, including guardians.

Reservations can be made on the official Andersen Theater website starting at 10 a.m. on the 20th, and daycare centers can apply separately for group viewings.

A Gijang-gun official said, "We hope families will visit the cool theater together on these hot summer days and enjoy a wonderful experience."

For more details about the performance, inquiries can be made by phone or through the official website of Andersen Theater.
