Kyungnam Information University Student Wins Grand Prize in Design Thinking at Startup Camp & Idea Competition

Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Development Support Project

A team including a student from Kyungnam College of Information & Technology (President: Kim Taesang) recently won the Grand Prize in the Design Thinking category at the 'Startup Camp & Startup Idea and Design Thinking Competition'.


This competition was part of the Creative Convergence Engineering Talent Development Support Project, organized by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. The team, comprising Moon Kyungmin from the Department of Computer Science at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, as well as students from Myongji College, Yeungnam University College, and Chosun University College, secured the Grand Prize with their 'Automatic Recycling Sorting Machine Using Sensor Recognition'.


The team received high praise from the judges for their outstanding creativity and problem-solving skills, as they devised an automated waste separation system.


Oh Sangyoung, Director of the Engineering Technology Education Center, said, "This award once again proves Kyungnam College of Information & Technology's ability to foster creative talent," and added, "We will continue to support students so that they can develop practical skills through various experiences."
