Opening Ceremony on the 5th... Aiming to Enhance Service Quality through Functional Recovery and Reinforcement Post-COVID
Increased Efficiency through Space Reallocation and Integration, Introduction of Unified Queue System, and Interior Improvements
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) Public Health Center has completed renovation work to reorganize its operations after COVID-19, and announced a new start toward high-quality health care services with an opening ceremony held on the 5th.
The Songpa-gu Public Health Center is a building with one basement floor and four above-ground floors adjacent to the district office building. During the COVID-19 period, the district focused the health center’s efforts on screening clinics, call centers, and epidemiological investigations. To restore the health center’s core functions and create a pleasant building environment, the district has been working on facility improvements since the end of last year.
In particular, starting in May for one month, a major remodeling project was undertaken, completely transforming the first-floor civil service office, which determines the building’s impression. The previously enclosed and cramped civil service office was reborn as a bright and open space. The scattered waiting areas were unified into an integrated civil service waiting area, and the dispersed reception counters and workspaces were rearranged to improve space efficiency.
Additionally, to provide high-quality health services, the entire civil service office was neatly renovated with a modern monotone interior design. A mini gallery created on one side of the civil service office offers visitors to the health center a small healing experience and visual enjoyment.
Moreover, along with the spatial reorganization, service efficiency was also improved. A ‘Integrated Queue Management System’ was introduced to guide visitors to nine different service counters in a one-stop manner. Kiosks were installed at the entrance of the civil service office to reduce unnecessary movement within the carefully arranged space and maximize visitor convenience.
With these improvements, the much more pleasant and convenient civil service office is expected to provide residents with a higher level of health care service experience.
In addition, since December last year, the district has been steadily making efforts to restore and strengthen the health center’s functions, including repairing damaged floors and walls in the screening clinic, creating training and meeting rooms on the third floor, which used to house the call center and epidemiological investigation team, and relocating the underground smoking cessation clinic to the second floor to improve counseling convenience for about 1,000 registered users.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Looking around like this, I am pleased that the overall atmosphere of the building has become much brighter and the functionality has become more convenient,” adding, “We will continue to realize a service-oriented administration that thoroughly takes care of residents’ health by providing high-quality medical services in a pleasant environment.”
