Secured 600 Million KRW in Government Funding Selected by the Ministry of Employment and Labor
Chungnam Province will provide support to improve the working conditions of employees at automobile parts manufacturers.
On the 3rd, the province announced that it was selected in an additional public offering for region-specific industry-customized job creation support led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, securing 600 million KRW in national funding.
The province plans to invest a total of 755 million KRW to provide job retention support funds, job leap incentive funds, health checkups, and more to workers at Hyundai and Kia Motors' second- and third-tier subcontractors located in Cheonan, Gongju, Asan, and Cheongyang County.
Through this support, the province aims to improve the dual structure between primary and subcontractors in the automobile parts manufacturing industry, alleviate labor shortages, and establish a win-win development system with Hyundai Motor Company.
A provincial official stated, "Chungnam has the third-largest number of automobile-related workers nationwide, but turnover is frequent and labor shortages are severe. Through this public offering project, we will work to ease the labor shortage in the automobile parts manufacturing industry, a key industry of the province, and reduce turnover rates."
