Largest Seoul-style Kids Cafe operated by the autonomous district with an exclusive area of 797㎡
Includes 13 types of playground equipment and play areas inspired by historical figures at Mangwoo History and Culture Park
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has opened the second Seoul-style kids cafe in Jungnang-gu, named ‘Jungnang Indoor Playground Yangwon’.
Jungnang Indoor Playground Yangwon is the largest among the district-run Seoul-style kids cafes and is expected to become a play space where children can joyfully run and play anytime, rain or shine.
On the 30th, an opening ceremony was held to commemorate this. About 100 people, including Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi and local residents, attended, with congratulatory performances by nearby daycare children, a plaque ceremony, and facility tours.
Jungnang Indoor Playground Yangwon has an exclusive area of 797㎡ and features 13 types of play equipment such as a zip line and jump pangpang. Additionally, it offers play activities reflecting the unique characteristics of Jungnang-gu, such as recreating the achievements of historical figures resting in Mangwoo History and Culture Park through play. These include ‘Bang Jeong-hwan Word Playboard,’ ‘Singing Along to Kang So-cheon’s Children’s Songs,’ and ‘Lee Jung-seop Art Play,’ which any child in Jungnang-gu can enjoy.
Moreover, the district’s distinctive four seasons are represented through media play. Visitors can enjoy media presentations of spring filled with roses, summer water play areas, autumn’s Yongma Waterfall Park, and winter views of Mangwoo History and Culture Park.
The district plans to assign professional staff during operating hours to ensure children can use the facility in a comfortable and safe environment. They also revised the ordinance to expand the age limit for facility use up to 8 years old, allowing children up to early elementary school grades to use it, enhancing user convenience.
The facility can accommodate up to 60 individual children and 80 group children per session, for ages 2 to 8. Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. The usage fee is 2,000 KRW for children and 1,000 KRW for guardians.
Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi said, “I hope children can freely run and play in the indoor playground regardless of the weather and grow up healthy and happy. We will continue to do our best to make Jungnang-gu a ‘child-rearing friendly district’ where both parents and children are happy.”
