Tmon Strengthens Position as Direct Purchase Platform... Also Supports Domestic Manufacturers' Exports

Direct Contract Negotiation with Overseas Brands
Exclusive After-Sales Service for Direct Purchase Products
Supporting K-Brand Exports through 'WishPlus'

Tmon, together with its parent company Qoo10, is expanding collaborations with overseas brands. This is to strengthen its position as a differentiated platform in cross-border trading (CBT), including direct purchase and reverse direct purchase. In particular, the recent launch of Wish+ aims to open up export routes for K brands overseas.

On the 27th, Tmon held a briefing at the Korea Press Center and unveiled the new portable gaming PC (UMPC) 'Pocket S' from the global gaming device specialist Ayaneo. Tmon announced that it will serve as the exclusive domestic sales channel for Ayaneo’s new product and plans to provide one-year free after-sales service (AS).

Tmon explained that the collaboration with Ayaneo holds significance beyond simply selling direct purchase products domestically. Currently, Tmon offers more than 3 million direct purchase products worldwide. Going further, it plans to strengthen its platform role by directly contracting with overseas brands and adding exclusive AS policies to direct purchase products. The domestic launch of Ayaneo’s Pocket S is a representative example of this direct purchase strategy.

Lee Seon-bok, head of Tmon’s CBT Business Division, said, "Rather than acquiring exclusive distribution rights, we will introduce brands and products in a form of overseas direct purchase that allows consumers to make reasonable choices. We are preparing various brands to proceed with first and will strengthen Tmon’s direct purchase competitiveness to provide differentiated shopping experiences to domestic consumers."

Tmon plans to support domestic brands and manufacturers’ overseas expansion not only in direct purchase but also in the reverse direct purchase sector, where overseas consumers buy Korean products through online malls. This will be done through the global e-commerce platform Wish+.

Tmon’s parent company Qoo10 recently renamed its existing global customer website Qoo10.com to Wish+ and launched a mobile app. This combines Wish, a North American and European-based e-commerce ecosystem acquired this year, with Qoo10, which has been operating mainly in Asia. Since starting business in 2010, Wish has recorded over 500 million downloads on Android apps and has customers in more than 200 countries. Tmon’s strategy is to discover excellent K brand products in beauty, fashion, food, and more through Wish+ and actively open export routes not only to North America but also to Europe and Asia.

Lee emphasized, "Based on synergy with Qoo10, we are providing value to customers and seeking co-growth with partners. Together with Wish+, we will also serve as export partners for domestic brand companies and manufacturers."
