With Fragrant Flowers... A Concert Stimulating the Senses Where 'Culture' Meets 'Garden' Expected
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the “Concert of Love for Residents” under the theme of “Spring Day Busking” for three days from May 24 to 26 on the lawn yard of Yeongdeungpo Park.
Every May, in celebration of Family Month, the district organizes a variety of stages that families can enjoy together and holds the “Concert of Love for Residents.”
The 29th Concert of Love for Residents will be held in conjunction with the “Garden Festival” at Yeongdeungpo Park under the theme of “Spring Day Busking.” Through this concert, the district plans to present unique busking performances that captivate both the eyes and ears, ranging from lively pungmulnori (traditional Korean percussion music) to circus and classical performances.
On the first day of the concert, May 24, the event will open with a joyful traditional talent performance by the traditional performance group ▲Munhwa Baljeonso Yeolteo, followed by performances from ▲Yeongdeungpo-gu Senior Choir, ▲J Ensemble, ▲Tenor Song Geun-hyeok, and ▲Soprano Jeong Ha-eun, marking a splendid start to the “Spring Day Busking” performances.
Additionally, four teams of students from the “Yeongdeungpo Cultural School” specializing in accordion, saxophone, piano, and harmonica will participate, showcasing the skills they have honed so far, promising a rich festival created together with the residents.
Moreover, circus, juggling, creative and fusion gugak (traditional Korean music) performances by experts in various fields are prepared, and through the “Seoul Street Performance Live in Every Corner” segment, six busker teams will participate, allowing visitors to enjoy a total of 17 diverse stages in the garden filled with the scent of flowers.
In particular, this concert will be held on the spacious lawn yard without designated seats so that visitors can comfortably enjoy the beautiful garden of Yeongdeungpo Park. Visitors can freely watch the performances like a picnic by bringing mats and camping chairs.
Furthermore, the district will deploy safety management personnel at the event site and cooperate with related organizations such as the fire station and police station to ensure that visitors can watch the performances comfortably and safely with full effort.
The “Spring Day Busking” performances can be watched free of charge by anyone without prior application at the lawn square of Yeongdeungpo Park, and for other details, inquiries can be made to the district office’s Culture and Sports Division for detailed guidance.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “This Spring Day Busking is a great opportunity to personally experience Yeongdeungpo as a garden city, cultural city, and a healthy and healing city.” He added, “In this season perfect for enjoying the garden, I hope everyone enjoys the street performances comfortably and joyfully while smelling the floral scents on the wide and green lawn of Yeongdeungpo Park.”
