Aegis Asset Management announced on the 20th that it will hold the '3rd Centerfield Media Wall Video Content Contest.' Applications are open until the 23rd of next month.
The Centerfield Media Wall Video Content Contest supports media art activities by students and emerging artists. It was planned to provide an opportunity to exhibit works on Centerfield's state-of-the-art media wall. Starting with the first contest in 2022, this marks the third edition.
Centerfield (231 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul), an asset managed by Aegis Asset Management, is a massive complex building consisting of prime-grade offices, a 5-star hotel, and retail facilities, spanning from 7 basement floors to 36 floors above ground. In particular, the two media walls at Centerfield measure 42.72m wide by 6.48m high (WEST building) and 34.08m wide by 6.48m high (EAST building), boasting top-tier image quality in Korea. This year as well, award-winning works will be screened on these two state-of-the-art media walls.
The contest theme is 'Verdant Haven: Urban Oasis.' Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of urban parks has become more prominent. People have begun to regain small happiness in daily life by interacting with others in nature. This contest aims to visually capture moments of enjoying the beauty of nature through the four seasons, where people communicate and create memories.
The contest is divided into two categories: the 'Student Division,' open only to currently enrolled students including graduate students, and the 'General Division,' which has no participation restrictions. The total prize money is 30 million KRW, with 10 million KRW awarded to first-place winners and 5 million KRW to second-place winners in each category. Teams of up to five members can be formed, and foreigners residing in Korea are also eligible to participate.
Applicants should submit the application form, video planning proposal, and test video via email by the 23rd of next month. The results of the first round of judging will be announced on July 1. For the second round, the final video must be submitted. There are no restrictions on video production formats, and various methods such as live-action filming, motion graphics, animation, and interactive media can be utilized.
Aegis Asset Management officials stated, "We look forward to diverse works capturing the interaction between nature and people so that the Centerfield Media Wall can become a place of rest and inspiration," adding, "We hope participants' brilliant potential will provide new experiences."
