Bukmun Intersection to Jungang Intersection Road and 3 Other Locations
Urban planning roads are steadily opening in chronic congestion areas within the city center of Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province.
The city of Yeongcheon completed the 0.35 km section from Bukmun Intersection to Jungang Intersection, which is the second phase of the 1.23 km road expansion project between Yeongcheon Middle School and Wansan Five-way Intersection, on the 22nd of last month, after 2 years and 9 months of construction.
The third phase, a 0.45 km section from Jungang Intersection to Wansan Five-way Intersection, is scheduled for completion at the end of 2028, with compensation negotiations currently underway.
Additionally, with the opening this month of the section between Yujin Precision and Dongseo Industrial Gas in the Donam Industrial Complex, as well as the road near the Gyochon-dong Art Creation Studio, the entry and exit of large trucks and two-way vehicle traffic have become smoother.
Furthermore, the completion of the Yangji-gil road, linked to the Hwaryong District urban development project in Hwaryong-dong at the end of this month, is expected to resolve transportation inconveniences for nearby residents.
Mayor Choi Kimoon said, "The disappearance of major chronic congestion areas in the city has improved citizen safety and transportation convenience," and added, "We will continue to accelerate the construction of urban planning roads, which are fundamental to residential conditions and regional development."
