Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) conducted an on-site safety inspection of port facilities throughout the Busan New Port area on the 14th in preparation for the upcoming rainy season.
Officials including the BPA Operations Headquarters Director and the New Port Branch Manager inspected the construction site of the new port fireboat station to be built within the New Port small vessel pier, and instructed proactive measures for safety-vulnerable facilities during the rainy season, such as drainage inspection.
In addition, to resolve recent complaints about delays in cargo loading and unloading, they visited New Port Pier 4 (HPNT), inspected nearby sites such as parking lots and entry gates with operational staff, and discussed improvement plans.
BPA Operations Headquarters Director Hong Sung-joon stated, “Thorough preparation tailored to the characteristics of the facilities is necessary to prepare for the rainy season, which brings heavy rainfall every year. We will strive to prevent safety accidents by inspecting facility cracks and leakage conditions in advance.”
