61% Implementation Rate of 53 Promises in 5 Major Areas of the 8th Elected Term... Awarded 'Highest Grade'
Operation of Resident Jury and Disclosure of Implementation Process... Result of Continuous Communication with Residents for Promise Fulfillment
Realizing a 'Young City Yeongdeungpo' that Imagines and Challenges through Faithful Promise Implementation
Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it received the highest grade (SA) by achieving a comprehensive score of over 83 points in the 2024 National Basic Local Government Mayor Pledge Fulfillment and Information Disclosure Evaluation.
This evaluation, organized by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, is conducted annually targeting local governments nationwide. The detailed evaluation criteria include five areas: pledge fulfillment completion, goal achievement, resident communication, web communication, and consistency. After first and second evaluations and data verification, each local government is assigned one of five grades (SA, A, B, C, D).
Based on the vision of the 8th elected term slogan, "Hope · Happiness · Future City Yeongdeungpo," the district is promoting a total of 53 pledges established across five major areas: residential city, economic city, future education city, cultural city, and welfare city. In this evaluation, the district earned the honor of the highest grade (SA) by showing a high fulfillment rate of 61%.
According to the district, this achievement is the result of Mayor Choi’s administrative philosophy of "leaping forward as a young city Yeongdeungpo" and "administration that benefits residents more," faithfully fulfilling promises to residents over the two years of the 8th elected term.
Additionally, the district has practiced transparent and clean administration by continuously communicating with residents about the appropriateness of pledge fulfillment through the operation of a resident jury panel and by disclosing the entire process on the district office website.
The core of district development, "pledge fulfillment," has become a driving force for change, opening an era of great transformation in Yeongdeungpo that surpasses the past 100 years. Going forward, the district plans to continue communication with residents to successfully achieve pledges and realize community autonomy that always prioritizes residents’ interests.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, stated, "This evaluation result is thanks to the interest and love of the residents for the district administration," and added, "Building on this result, we will more solidly implement pledges in each field to produce tangible and empathetic outcomes for residents, creating a young city Yeongdeungpo where imagination and challenges are possible."
