The Nation's First AMG PHEV Model
812 Horsepower... Increased Output with Electric Motor
Mercedes-Benz Korea has launched the new AMG S63E model in South Korea, featuring the most powerful driving performance among all S-Class models to date. It is the first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) AMG model released domestically.
On the 14th, Mercedes-Benz announced the domestic launch of 'The New Mercedes AMG S63E Performance.' It is explained that AMG's performance and plug-in hybrid technology have been added to Benz's large flagship S-Class model.
When the engine and electric motor operate together, the maximum output reaches 802 horsepower and maximum torque is 124.3 kgf·m. This combines the 190 horsepower of the hybrid system E-Performance's permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSM) with the 612 horsepower of the AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. Acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h has been shortened by 0.2 seconds to 3.3 seconds.
The AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel-drive system is also equipped. The AMG high-performance battery with a new cooling module has a capacity of 13.1 kWh, allowing electric-only driving for up to 25 km under domestic certification standards.
Additionally, various driving support features are included such as air suspension and AMG Ride Control Plus suspension based on an adaptive damping system, AMG Dynamic Select offering a total of seven driving modes including pure electric mode, and rear axle steering supporting approximately 3 degrees of rear wheel steering angle.
For the first time in the S-Class, an AMG-exclusive radiator grille has been applied to the exterior. AMG-exclusive design elements have been added throughout the interior and exterior.
Advanced driving assistance systems such as the Driving Assistance Package, digital light, and remote parking package are installed for driving convenience. Options such as the MBUX high-end rear seat entertainment system, MBUX interior assistant, and Burmester 3D surround sound system are also extensively available.
Delivery to domestic customers will begin within this month. The vehicle price is 299 million KRW including VAT. More detailed information can be found at any of the 64 official Mercedes-Benz Korea showrooms nationwide or on the official website.
