Daegu Catholic University Implements 'Creating a Health Promotion University' Program

Personalized Nutrition Counseling... Supporting Proper Dietary Behavior Change

Daegu Catholic University recently launched the 'Creating a Health Promotion University' program in collaboration with the Gyeongsan City Public Health Center, targeting university members and local residents.

'Creating a Health Promotion University' is a health promotion project involving Gyeongsan City and 10 universities located in Gyeongsan, including Daegu Catholic University, aimed at helping local residents and university students relieve stress related to academics and employment.

The wellness program is in progress.

The Daegu Catholic University Fitness Promotion Center has organized five programs (Running Crew, Mulbyeot Exercise, Wellness Program, Walking Crew, and Nutrition Counseling) on different days of the week.

The program is free of charge, and participating students from the university receive extracurricular program credits to support their growth as true talents based on physical health.

In particular, objective health information is provided through body composition tests (body fat mass, muscle mass, etc.), and personalized nutrition counseling is offered based on nutritional information obtained from dietary screening tests and nutrition index measurements to support proper dietary behavior changes.

Lee Kyung-ah, Director of Student Affairs at Daegu Catholic University, stated, “By collaborating with the Gyeongsan City Public Health Center, we will strive to expand the university’s role in the community by supporting health and nutrition management programs that help not only students but also local residents practice and habituate health promotion and nutrition management.”

The program will run until November, and participants can apply through the Daegu Catholic University Fitness Promotion Center website.
