Blueprint for a 60-Story Landmark Around Noryangjin Station Area Prepared

Presentation of Innovative Space Planning and Vision Linked to Large-Scale Development Around Noryangjin Station Area

Blueprint for a 60-Story Landmark Around Noryangjin Station Area Prepared

Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) is launching the "Noryangjin Station Area Revitalization Project" from this month until the end of the year to create a blueprint for urban development that includes a landmark building up to 60 stories high around Noryangjin Station.

The Noryangjin area is expected to be completely transformed within the next 10 years through the completion of Noryangjin New Town. With groundbreaking spatial changes ahead such as the development of the Fisheries Cooperative and water supply material sites, as well as the national railway underground project, this area holds significant future value.

Noryangjin Station, a transfer station for subway lines 1 and 9, has the geographical advantage of being adjacent to the Han River. However, it is currently disconnected by the Gyeongbu Line, resulting in underutilization of sites like the Fisheries Cooperative and water supply material areas.

Accordingly, the district plans to establish a future vision that comprehensively considers the location, environment, and related plans of the Noryangjin area to maximize its value and present a blueprint that enhances the value and status of Dongjak-gu.

First, the district will develop an overall spatial plan for the underutilized sites in the area, efficiently allocating necessary infrastructure and public facilities to promote regional revitalization.

By maximizing Noryangjin’s locational potential, the plan aims to attract an AI and robotics town to the area, transforming it into a cradle for future vocational education and a space for fostering advanced industries.

Additionally, a super high-rise landmark building over 60 stories tall will be constructed along the Han River skyline in Dongjak-gu, developed as a mixed-use complex including residential, commercial, and office facilities, serving as a trigger for future development in Dongjak.

The area will be reorganized into a space that plays a key role by strengthening functional connections with surrounding areas such as Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo, Nodeulseom, and Yongsan, as well as the Han River.

Furthermore, with the recent enactment of the Special Act on Railway Underground Projects making the underground railway project more tangible, the district plans to prepare utilization plans for idle railway land considering this development and will actively strive to be selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s pilot project.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, emphasized, “We plan to present a new vision for Noryangjin through the development plan of the central axis from Jangseungbaegi to Noryangjin and the Han River,” adding, “We will definitely create a super high-rise landmark that will represent Korea by preparing a new blueprint for the Noryangjin area.”
