"Medical School and Medical Graduate School Student Protest Committee Also No Discussion"
Park Dan, the Emergency Response Committee Chair of the Korean Intern Resident Association, stated that there has been no discussion regarding the formation of the 'Pan-Medical Community Council' being promoted by Lim Hyun-taek, the newly appointed president of the Korean Medical Association, and that interns and residents will make decisions autonomously.

On the 1st, Chair Park told members of the Korean Intern Resident Association, "President Lim has mentioned creating a 'Pan-Medical Community Council.' There is also ongoing advocacy to unify communication channels solely through the Medical Association after his election." He added, "The Korean Intern Resident Association has not discussed the formation of such a council. The Emergency Response Committee of the Korean Medical School and Medical Graduate Student Association also confirmed that they have not discussed the council's formation."
He further clarified that interns and residents will proceed with autonomous decision-making. He said, "We are deeply concerned about President Lim's unilateral actions. Interns and residents have acted independently so far and will continue to make decisions autonomously. Additionally, we are deliberating together with medical students and will fully respect their opinions."
Earlier, the Korean Medical Association President Transition Committee announced on the 30th of last month that "We are promoting the formation of a Pan-Medical Community Council composed of the Medical Association, the Korean Medical Science Association, medical school professors, interns and residents, and medical students to facilitate one-on-one dialogue with the government." They also stated, "Once launched, the council will be fully operational to closely respond to changes in the situation."
