Nationality and Major Do Not Matter for Application Eligibility
Hyundai Motor Company is conducting a summer internship program for foreigners both domestically and internationally.
On the 30th, Hyundai announced that it will recruit foreign international students enrolled in domestic universities for a two-week summer internship (experience-type internship for foreign international students) from the 1st to the 14th of next month. Any foreign international student who is enrolled in the third year or above at a domestic university or is in a master's program can apply regardless of nationality or major.
This is the first time Hyundai is recruiting foreign international student interns through an open call. The foreign international student internship offers a four-week schedule in July, allowing participants to experience various roles such as research and development (R&D), mobility design, business/planning, management support, and production/manufacturing. Detailed recruitment announcements can be found on Hyundai’s recruitment website.
Talents from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a key strategic market, can also come to Korea to work as interns. Hyundai will conduct a four-week internship starting in July for outstanding students enrolled in universities in ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
ASEAN interns will perform local business-related tasks at locations such as the Seoul Yangjae and Gangnam-daero offices and the Technical Research Center (Namyang Research Center). The company plans to offer employment at local subsidiaries to outstanding interns.
The internship for doctoral students in science and engineering at overseas universities was newly established this year to strengthen R&D capabilities. Recruitment is open through the recruitment website until the 12th, and candidates will be selected through document screening and online interviews. Science and engineering doctoral interns will have the opportunity to work on research projects with current employees at Hyundai’s R&D headquarters or AVP headquarters for two months starting from July, during the summer vacation period.
A specialized program has also been prepared to help foreign interns adapt smoothly to the company. This includes assigning dedicated mentors, meetings with senior foreign employees, and visits to Hyundai brand hubs. A Hyundai Motor Company official explained, "We plan to actively seek global talent so that employees from diverse cultural backgrounds can come together and create synergy."
