Final Project Transfer Scheduled for the End of Next Month
Chabot Mobility is expanding its market share in vehicle management by acquiring SK Networks' imported car management platform, 'The Carpet.'
Chabot Mobility announced on the 29th that it signed an agreement with SK Networks on the 25th to transfer all business operations, related assets, and infrastructure of The Carpet. The final business transfer is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
Chabot Mobility plans to enhance its integrated vehicle management services by absorbing The Carpet's imported car maintenance network and infrastructure. This will connect Chabot's existing vehicle management services such as 'Chagaebu,' 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Repair Estimate,' and 'Car Insurance Management' with The Carpet's services like 'Mobile Maintenance Statement' and 'AI Chatbot Mechanic.'
Additionally, recognizing that The Carpet's main users are imported car drivers who face difficulties selecting maintenance shops after the manufacturer's warranty period ends, Chabot is also considering developing vehicle management services specialized for imported car drivers.
Chabot will also strengthen AI functions based on vehicle management big data. By linking approximately 1.14 million driver data records accumulated by Chabot over seven years with maintenance data of more than one million imported cars held by The Carpet, they are planning to develop a personalized service model for individual drivers.
Kang Byung-hee, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice President of Chabot Mobility, stated, "By combining Chabot's digital auto commerce capabilities that provide a one-stop service for the entire vehicle purchase process with The Carpet's online-to-offline (O2O) maintenance capabilities, we will introduce a new paradigm in vehicle management."
