Friday Direct Market Hosts Korean Pork Tasting Event and Consumption Promotion Festa

Gyeongnam Nonghyup held the ‘Our Pork Han-don Tasting and Consumption Promotion Festa’ event to promote Han-don pork consumption at the Friday direct transaction market held across the Gyeongnam headquarters on the 26th.

They provided grilled dishes using various parts of Han-don pork to citizens and consumers visiting the direct transaction market, allowing consumers to taste and purchase directly, thereby promoting the taste and excellence of Han-don pork.

Attendees at the event included Cho Geun-su, General Director of Gyeongnam Nonghyup, Son Young-jae, Livestock Division Chief of Gyeongsangnam-do, Joo Jae-yong, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Council of the Korea Pork Producers Association, and Kim Kyung-ho, Executive Director of Changnyeong Livestock Cooperative.

This event was hosted by the Han-don Self-support Fund Management Committee and organized by the Korea Pork Producers Association Gyeongnam Council, Gyeongsangnam-do, and Gyeongnam Nonghyup, together with Changnyeong Livestock Cooperative, to spread the excellence of our pork and to revitalize the Friday direct transaction market through the Han-don consumption promotion event.

General Director Cho Geun-su said, “Gyeongnam Nonghyup and the Han-don Self-support Fund will do their best to produce fresh and safe food, our pork, to contribute to strengthening the national immunity, and to stabilize livestock product prices and promote consumption.”

Chairman Joo Jae-yong of the Gyeongnam Council said, “Currently, the Han-don industry is facing difficult conditions such as soaring production costs, falling pork prices, and decreasing pork consumption,” and added, “We ask the residents of the province for their continuous interest and consumption of our pork.”
