Geumcheon-type Senior Village Care Discussion 'Different Geumcheon Meet' Talk Concert Held

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 30th at 2 PM, it will hold a talk concert titled "Different Geumcheon Meets" at the Munhwajeongwon Art Hall to discuss ways to build a Geumcheon-style village care community.

"Different Geumcheon Meets" is a generational empathy cultural concert where participants engage in conversations about various social issues such as those related to different generations and genders, fostering a time of mutual understanding.

The concert's theme was selected as "Elderly Care," one of the major local agendas raised at the "Community × Economy, Resident Autonomy, Public-Private Cooperation Joint Meeting" held last February.

About 100 participants, including experts on elderly care, workers from related organizations, and local residents, will attend to discuss ways to establish a community-based elderly care service through public-private collaboration.

Before the discussion, a sand art cultural performance themed on "Elderly Care" will be presented.

Park Yong-su, Chairman of the Gwangjin Social Economy Network, who will deliver the keynote speech, will explain the establishment of community-based care services through public-private cooperation. Yu Chang-won, Director of the Geumcheon-gu Community Economy Integrated Support Center, will present on exploring the direction of the Geumcheon-style village care community.

The discussion will be chaired by Kim Yeon-ah, a research professor at Sungkonghoe University, with four panelists participating: Go Seong-mi, member of the Geumcheon-gu Council; Go Eun-joo, Chairperson of the Ullimdure Social Cooperative; Gu Ja-hoon, Director of the Geumcheon Senior Welfare Center; and Jang Ji-eun, Head of the Care Support Team at the Welfare Policy Division of Geumcheon-gu Office.

The discussion will cover urgent tasks for establishing an integrated community care system, care policies as seen through the Tongtong Hope Naraedan and Care SOS programs, customized elderly care services and integrated community care, and the Geumcheon-gu ordinance supporting integrated community care.

"Different Geumcheon Meets" is being promoted for the first time this year as a "co-governance project" under the resident participation budget program. The district plans to hold 4 to 5 concerts by the end of the year on major local agendas raised at the "Community × Economy, Resident Autonomy, Public-Private Cooperation Joint Meeting."

At the joint meeting, various stakeholders from the fields of village communities, social economy, resident autonomy committees, and co-governance gather to seek ways to revitalize the Geumcheon-style community. To build a public-public and public-private collaboration system, the meeting is held every fourth Tuesday of the month at 2 PM.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I hope that through the discussion, we can confirm successful cases of elderly care and generate diverse opinions on what services are truly needed by the elderly and which areas Geumcheon-gu needs to improve."
