Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, Visits Filial Piety Meal Side Dish Factory to Inspect Cooking Process

Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the ‘Hyo-do Bapsang Side Dish Factory’ located at 450-3 Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, on the morning of the 23rd to carefully inspect the side dish preparation process for the elderly.

The ‘Hyo-do Bapsang Side Dish Factory’ is a large-scale food preparation facility established to expand the ‘Resident Participation Hyo-do Bapsang’ project, a representative elderly welfare program in Mapo-gu. A nutritionist personally plans the menu to promote the health of the elderly.

The food prepared at the side dish factory is delivered on the same day it is cooked, following the principle of ‘same-day cooking, same-day delivery,’ and is distributed to 15 meal service institutions via the Hyo-do Bapcha (filial piety meal vehicle).

After touring the cooking process, Mayor Park Gang-su held a meeting with the neighborhood chiefs to listen to various opinions regarding the side dishes and other aspects of the Hyo-do Bapsang for the elderly, emphasizing once again the purpose of the Hyo-do Bapsang and requesting active cooperation.

Mayor Park Gang-su stated, “At the Hyo-do Bapsang Side Dish Factory, we prepare nutritious and healthy meals using fresh domestic ingredients that are not overly seasoned for the health of the elderly,” and added, “I hope each neighborhood actively gathers feedback from the recipients of the Hyo-do Bapsang so that the side dish factory project can be successfully expanded.”

He continued, “Please remember that the Hyo-do Bapsang is not simply about providing lunch for the elderly but is a project that also cares for their health and well-being.”
