On the 19th, CEO Jo certified his participation in the Zero Single-Use Products Challenge on LG Electronics' Facebook account. He joined the challenge after being nominated by Shin Hak-cheol, Vice Chairman of LG Chem.

The Zero Single-Use Products Challenge is a nationwide campaign led by the Ministry of Environment aimed at reducing the use of single-use products in daily life and increasing the use of reusable products.

Ahead of Earth Day on the 22nd, CEO Jo, who joined the challenge, stated, "I participated in the campaign with joy, carrying the will to pass on a better environment to the 'YG' (Young Generation) who will live in the future." He added, "We will continue to strengthen LG Electronics' ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities and strive to deliver sustainable life values to our customers."

Since 2022, LG Electronics has been implementing the "Start with Me Challenge" for employees at the LG Twin Towers, minimizing the use of paper cups and installing tumbler washers to reduce single-use products. Through these efforts, the company has reduced the monthly use of paper cups by about 150,000, resulting in an annual carbon dioxide reduction of approximately 12 tons, with about 6.86g of CO2 saved per paper cup.

CEO Jo nominated Ryu Jae-cheol, Head of LG Electronics H&A Business Division, and Park Hyung-se, Head of HE Business Division, as the next challengers.
