Mokpo Chamber of Commerce Holds On-site Communication Meeting with Yang Dong-gu, Gwangju Regional Tax Office Chief

Invitation to the Mokpo and Haenam Tax Office Chiefs of Jurisdiction

The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek) announced on the 17th that it held a meeting with more than 50 local business representatives to communicate with entrepreneurs in the southwestern region of Jeonnam. The meeting invited Yang Donggu, Commissioner of the Gwangju Regional Tax Office, as well as the heads of the Mokpo and Haenam tax offices, which have jurisdiction over the area.


The meeting proceeded with explanations on tax administration support and precautions for management, followed by listening to and responding to the difficulties and suggestions of local businesspeople. It was especially organized to provide useful tax information beneficial to companies, such as taxpayer rights protection systems, various consulting programs, and tax support guidance for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to facilitate communication.

Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek said, “I am grateful that Commissioner Yang Donggu and other officials attended this communication event prepared for our companies who are doing their best despite difficult domestic and international conditions.” He added, “The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry will fulfill its role as a central organization representing the regional economy covering 10 cities and counties and will work together with a sense of responsibility as a leader of the local economy.”


Commissioner Yang Donggu stated, “We will faithfully perform the fundamental role of the Gwangju Regional Tax Office and do our best to lead tax administration support and resolve current issues.” He also said, “To support the recovery of the people’s economy and overcome the economic crisis, we will continue to communicate so that the difficulties and suggestions of companies can be reflected as much as possible.”


At the meeting, local businesspeople proposed △ extending the carryback period for small and medium-sized enterprises’ net operating losses △ improving the tax points system △ and enhancing the tax credit system for research and human resource development expenses for small and medium-sized enterprises.
