Geochang-gun Launches First Webtoon and Instatoon Contest

Award-winning works will be used as promotional content through the official military YouTube and social networking services (SNS).

Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is holding a webtoon and Insta-toon contest expressing various stories related to representative tourist attractions in comic form as a follow-up project after selecting the representative tourist attractions, until June 30.

This contest is held in two categories: webtoon and Insta-toon. Participants can create webtoons or Insta-toons based on restructured existing legends or newly created stories.

Anyone interested in Geochang-gun, from children to adults, and any citizen of the Republic of Korea can participate in the contest. Submitted works will be selected and awarded in July through public voting and a judging committee.

The winning works will be used as promotional content through Geochang-gun’s official YouTube channel and social networking services (SNS) in the future.

Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “As this is the first contest to raise public interest in Geochang-gun and its representative tourist attractions, we expect a variety of works to be submitted. In particular, we ask for the active participation and great interest of elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as university students nationwide who are usually interested in webtoons and Insta-toons.”
