New Public Health Doctor Job Training Conducted
On the 12th, 15 newly assigned public health doctors were deployed to Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, where they will provide medical services at the Ulleung-gun Health Medical Center and health clinics.
The newly assigned public health doctors include 3 specialists (2 in anesthesiology and pain medicine, 1 in radiation oncology), 8 interns, 3 Korean medicine doctors, and 1 dentist, which is one less than last year. These public health doctors will be assigned to the Health Medical Center and health clinics starting from April 15 to carry out their duties.
Also, at 8 a.m. on the same day, the Ulleung-gun Health Medical Center conducted job training for the 15 newly assigned public health doctors. The training, led by Director Kim Young-heon of the Ulleung-gun Health Medical Center, covered the roles and basic duties of public health doctors, service regulations, education on integrity and kindness, and current key projects.
Director Kim Young-heon of the Ulleung-gun Health Medical Center emphasized through the public health doctors' job training, “As the number of medical public health doctors continues to decline, I hope they recognize the importance of the Health Medical Center’s role in the vulnerable medical environment and provide the best medical services to the residents.”
Nam Han-kwon, the county governor, stated, “Although the medical conditions on Ulleung Island have become somewhat more challenging compared to the mainland due to the decrease in public health doctors, we will continue to strive to minimize the inconvenience to local residents using health institutions.” He also encouraged the newly assigned public health doctors, saying, “Please become good doctors who can comfort not only the sick body but also the lonely heart with a warm word.”
