"Immediate Deletion of Residence Photos and Videos Requested by Candidate Na's Daughter"

Candidate Jang Dong-hyeok: "Out of 6 Houses, Family Actually Lives in 5... Stop Black Propaganda" People Power Party candidate Jang Dong-hyeok

The campaign committee of Jang Dong-hyeok, a member of the People Power Party (Chungnam Boryeong·Seocheon), urged Democratic Party candidate Na So-yeol to "stop habitual dirty election tactics involving slander and agitation."

According to Jang's campaign committee, Na distributed a press release containing false claims that "Jang and his spouse own six houses regardless of actual residence" and even produced protest signs calling him a "land tycoon" to be used by campaign workers for promotion.

Jang stated, "Na built a house on more than 800 pyeong of land but did not criticize it as a 'luxury house' or 'luxury villa,'" adding, "No matter how heated the election becomes, criticism must be based on facts, and there are boundaries that must be respected."

Jang's campaign committee clarified, "Of the six houses owned by Jang, five are actually inhabited by family members," and "The apartment in Daecheon is where Jang actually resides, and the officetel in Yeouido is used for National Assembly activities."

They continued, "The house in Ungcheon was inherited and is occupied by Jang's mother, and other houses are actually lived in by his children and mother-in-law."

In particular, they explained, "Two of the houses were inherited from his father-in-law last year, and Jang owns only about one-tenth or one-fifth shares, not the entire property."

They emphasized, "Although Jang could cover the lodging for his National Assembly activities near the parliament with political donations, he believes it is not appropriate for a public official and thus purchased and resides there at his own expense."

Jang also stated that when Na's daughter requested to stop exposing photos of their residence that day, "We immediately took measures to ensure that related photos or videos are not posted."

He added, "This election should not become overheated with repeated slander and harm," and proposed, "Na So-yeol should also stop false slanders regarding Jang's house ownership and receive a fair evaluation through a negative-free fair competition during the remaining five days."
