Youth in Dobong-gu can now freely use public sports facilities during designated hours.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that starting this month, certain areas within public sports facilities in the district will be open to local youth during specific times.

The facilities being opened are ▲Indoor gymnasium at Dobong-dong Indoor Sports Center (every second and fourth Sunday of the month from 9 AM to 11 AM) ▲Rooftop futsal field at Chang-dong Culture and Sports Center (every Saturday from 4 PM to 6 PM) ▲Badminton courts at Darakwon Sports Park (every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 PM to 5 PM / only 2 courts) ▲Choansan Badminton Court (every Friday from 2 PM to 5 PM / only 1 court).

For detailed information regarding the use of each facility, inquiries can be made to the Dobong-gu Facilities Management Corporation or the respective sports facility.

Prior to opening the facilities, the district conducted a comprehensive survey of cultural and sports facilities in the area to establish a foundation for youth leisure activities and identified necessary facilities. Subsequently, through consultations with managing bodies such as the Dobong-gu Facilities Management Corporation, spaces accessible to youth were secured.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “With this facility opening, I hope that youth will have more opportunities for leisure activities and be able to develop their hobbies and talents.”

In addition to opening public sports facilities, the district is making various efforts to support youth activities. At the end of last year, the district completed a branding research project for youth facilities reflecting regional characteristics and demands, and is currently planning Dobong-gu’s own youth programs linked to this initiative.
