No Significant Signs of Collision on Vehicle
Heartwarming Story Sparks Comments from Netizens
A story about a driver who left a handwritten note after slightly hitting a truck's side mirror has become a hot topic among netizens. According to an online community on the 30th of last month, Mr. A, who drives a 3.5-ton truck for work early in the morning, found an unexpected note tucked under the vehicle's wiper.
The memo was left by another driver, Mr. B, whose vehicle was next to the truck. Since Mr. B had no way to contact Mr. A directly, he left the note. Mr. B wrote, "Sir, I slightly hit your side mirror while passing by," and added, "I got out and checked with my own eyes, and there seemed to be no particular damage, but please let me know if there is any problem. I apologize." He also left his contact information at the end.
Mr. A checked around the truck but found no damage. Feeling concerned, he sent a text message to Mr. B that same morning. Mr. A said, "There was no problem. Seeing your note on my way to work early in the morning made my day. Don’t worry about it, and I hope only good things happen to you today." In response, Mr. B replied, "I’m really relieved. I’m a beginner driver, so I will be more careful from now on," and added, "A friend told me that big truck drivers often use these things to demand large sums of money, so I was briefly worried and ashamed of myself. Your message touched me and made my day. Thank you."
Mr. A shared his thoughts, saying, "Even if there had been a slight dent or scratch, I probably would have just let it go after seeing the note. I was deeply moved by the kindness of someone who left a note even after such a minor contact. The early morning trip to deliver goods no longer feels tiring but joyful." He continued, "I think this person might also be someone who works early mornings like me," and added, "Though it’s a small gesture, the kindness of the person who left the note seems to send a positive influence to my family and to those reading this."
Netizens responded with comments such as, "So heartwarming when so many people just run away," "Restores faith in humanity," "I once scratched a parked car in an apartment lot and called the owner, but they said it was the first time they’d seen someone call after scratching a car and that most people just ignore it and leave," and "Both of you are wonderful."
