Anseong-si Secures Supply for 'Buk Anseong Smart Valley General Industrial Complex'
Promotes Creation of 2.47 Million㎡ Small and Medium Materials and Parts Complex Including 'Dongsin Industrial Complex'
A semiconductor-specialized industrial complex covering 900,000㎡ will be established in Nampung-ri, Bogae-myeon, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Accordingly, Anseong-si will have a large-scale advanced semiconductor industrial complex totaling 2.47 million㎡, including the ‘Dongsin General Industrial Complex,’ which was designated last July as a government semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment specialized complex.
On the 7th, Anseong-si announced that it recently secured 900,000㎡ of the ‘Bukanseong Smart Valley General Industrial Complex’ as a follow-up measure to the ‘Yongin Semiconductor Cluster Win-Win Agreement.’
The ‘Yongin Semiconductor Cluster Win-Win Agreement’ was signed in January 2021 by Gyeonggi-do, Anseong-si, Yongin-si, SK Hynix, SK Construction (now SK Ecoplant), and Yongin General Industrial Complex Co., Ltd. to promote regional cooperation related to the ‘Yongin Semiconductor Cluster’ in Wonsam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, Yongin, where SK Hynix’s semiconductor production line is located.
Following the agreement’s provision to ‘support the creation of industrial complexes in the Anseong-si area,’ the city secured 1.57 million㎡ of the ‘Dongsin General Industrial Complex’ last July and has now additionally secured 900,000㎡ of the ‘Bukanseong Smart Valley General Industrial Complex.’
The allocation of new industrial complex volumes is made by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, which allocates to Gyeonggi-do every three years according to the metropolitan area maintenance plan. The province then reviews project plans submitted by local governments and makes the final allocation.
Regarding the Dongsin General Industrial Complex, the city is currently promoting prior consultations with related agencies aiming to apply for industrial complex plan approval by December this year. The city also plans to apply for industrial complex plan approval for the Bukanseong Smart Valley General Industrial Complex within this year.
A city official said, "The Bukanseong Smart Valley Industrial Complex has excellent accessibility to the Second Gyeongbu Expressway and Local Road No. 306," adding, "We plan to build it as a future-oriented semiconductor specialized complex based on its geographical advantages."
Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong-si, stated, "We will do our best to build a self-sufficient city of 300,000 by establishing a semiconductor mega cluster connecting Pyeongtaek, Yongin, and Anseong."
