Gangbuk-gu 7th Branch Established in Insudong... Total Floor Area 283.48㎡
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) established the 7th branch of the Our Neighborhood Care Center in Insu-dong and held an opening ceremony on the 14th.
The Our Neighborhood Care Center Gangbuk-gu 7th Branch (hereinafter Gangbuk-gu 7th Branch) is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the ‘Eojin Eumteo’ building, created as part of the Insu-dong urban regeneration revitalization project. The total floor area is 283.48㎡. The 3rd floor consists of an active space where children can enjoy blocks and board games, as well as a quiet space for various programs. The 4th floor is designed as a physical activity space for playing table tennis and a music activity space where children can play instruments such as the recorder and ocarina.
The district started operating the Gangbuk-gu 7th Branch on the 3rd floor of Eojin Eumteo on December 26 last year. To provide more diverse facilities and programs for elementary school students visiting the center, the 4th floor expansion was completed, and the opening ceremony was held on the 14th.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 40 people, including Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, Choi Chi-hyo, Chairperson of the Gangbuk-gu Council, council members, Kim Hyun-ah, CEO of the educational community social cooperative Woorinuri entrusted with operation, district officials, and Gangbuk-gu residents. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tours.
The Gangbuk-gu 7th Branch is available to any elementary school student in need of care. Operating hours are from 1 PM to 7 PM during the school term and from 9 AM to 7 PM during vacations. The usage fee is 50,000 KRW per month for regular care and 2,500 KRW per day for temporary care.
Additionally, the district operates Our Neighborhood Care Centers in eight locations, including Samyang-dong, Songjung-dong, Beon 2-dong, and Suyu 2-dong, including the 7th Branch. Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “Facilities for youth such as Our Neighborhood Care Center, Ui-dong Youth Culture Center, and Samyang-dong Youth Hideout have received great support from residents. We plan to continuously establish various youth facilities throughout the region.” She added, “In addition, through various cultural events, festivals, and educational projects, we will make Gangbuk-gu a city that is great for raising children.”
