Riders Delivering Over 22-30 Orders Daily for 220 Days a Year
Eligible to Participate in Win-Win Support Fund Program
Woowa Brothers, responsible for the logistics services of Baedal Minjok, announced on the 7th that they will operate the 'Mutual Growth Support Fund' to support a sustainable delivery environment for Baemin Connect riders.
Woowa Brothers has been continuously signing collective agreements with the representative union, the Delivery Platform Labor Union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Service Federation. After reaching the third negotiation agreement last year, Woowa Brothers and the union promised to operate the 'Platform Rider Mutual Growth Support System,' considering the characteristics of platform riders.
The newly established 'Platform Rider Mutual Growth Support System,' created during consultations with the union to enhance rider support levels, aims to provide riders with a sustainable delivery environment. It is intended to promote the sustainability of platform riders who deliver consistently and to strengthen mutual cooperation activities, supporting riders in performing deliveries stably.
Based on consultations with the Delivery Platform Union, Woowa Brothers jointly established the criteria for riders eligible to participate in the Mutual Growth Support System. Riders who perform deliveries through Baemin Connect for more than 220 days annually, with 22 to 30 deliveries per day, can participate in the Platform Rider Mutual Growth Support System. Separate achievement targets were also designed by region, considering riders residing in different areas.
In particular, the delivery days include hospitalization periods due to delivery-related accidents. Since the support system aims to promote sustainable delivery, hospitalization days are counted as 100% delivery days, and treatment periods not requiring hospitalization are recognized at 50%, actively reflecting practical aspects. Selected riders who perform a certain number of deliveries monthly can receive a support fund of 215,000 KRW the following month.
A Woowa Brothers official said, “This system was established through close consultations with the Delivery Platform Union to ensure that riders, our important partners in mutual growth, can deliver in a sustainable environment,” adding, “We will continue to strive to enable riders to perform deliveries stably and to help the delivery industry develop healthily and safely.”
