Making Safe and Comfortable Lunar New Year Holidays with Field-Specific On-Call Duty Efforts
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, will operate a comprehensive situation room for four days from the 9th to the 12th during the Lunar New Year holiday period to ensure a safe and comfortable holiday.
According to the county on the 6th, the comprehensive situation room is organized into seven sectors, including a general control team, disaster and safety and traffic measures, livestock diseases, forest fires, cleaning, health, and water supply, to promptly respond to inconveniences in areas closely related to residents' lives, and will conduct emergency duty.
First, prioritizing a safe holiday, the disaster safety situation room will operate on emergency duty during the holiday period to maintain the disaster situation management system and keep a 24-hour emergency rescue and first aid posture in preparation for various accidents in cooperation with related organizations.
As the holiday period is short and traffic congestion is expected due to concentrated movement before the holiday, a special traffic measures situation room will be operated to monitor various traffic issues and strengthen safety measures to respond quickly to disasters and traffic accidents through cooperation among related organizations.

Due to the economic recession and high inflation causing a sharp rise in prices of major seasonal goods, the county is operating a price and price management situation room until the 8th, cracking down on unfair practices such as failure to indicate the origin of agricultural, marine, and livestock products and seasonal goods, and conducting on-site inspections.
In particular, various price stabilization campaigns such as shopping at traditional markets and using stores with fair prices will be actively promoted.
To ensure a comfortable and warm holiday, until the 8th, the county plans to conduct visits and support for about 1,000 vulnerable households, including basic livelihood security recipients and elderly living alone in each town and township, as well as 32 local facilities and organizations, and carry out focused volunteer activities using neighborhood welfare task forces.
In this regard, County Governor Myeon Hyun-gwan has been directly inspecting the field of public livelihood by visiting traditional markets for shopping campaigns, welfare facilities, and volunteering to help neighbors since the 2nd.
During the holiday, Haenam-gun will operate an emergency medical care plan involving the public health center, 21 medical institutions, and 21 pharmacies.
Haenam General Hospital and Haenam Woori General Hospital will operate emergency rooms 24 hours a day, and on-duty medical institutions and holiday pharmacies will be designated and operated by date during the holiday period.
In particular, pediatric and adolescent care at Haenam General Hospital will begin on the 12th, and the public health center clinic will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the 10th to minimize inconvenience to residents.
Over-the-counter safety medicines will be sold at 51 convenience stores operating 24 hours a day.
Information on on-duty medical institutions and pharmacies open during the holiday can be checked through the Haenam-gun public health center website and the Sotongnet communication network, and guidance is also available via emergency calls to 119, the emergency medical portal, the Ministry of Health and Welfare call center, and smartphone apps (emergency medical information provision).
To block livestock diseases caused by visitors returning to their hometowns during the Lunar New Year holiday, a livestock disease quarantine situation room will be operated to maintain quarantine posture and manage the quarantine situation to ensure no disruption in initial quarantine measures.
On the 8th and 13th, before and after the holiday, a thorough disinfection of livestock farms and related facilities will be conducted, and from the 2nd to the 13th, the intensive disinfection period, entry of outsiders and vehicles into farms will be prohibited, frequent disinfection of livestock barns will be carried out, and farm-by-farm surveillance and quarantine measures will be strengthened.
Household waste and food waste in Haenam-eup will be collected for three days on the 9th and 11th to 12th, excluding the Lunar New Year day, and in township areas, self-collection will be conducted on designated days during the period. In addition, a county-wide and township-wide large-scale cleaning will be held on the 7th.
The underground parking lot at the county citizen square in front of the county office will be open free of charge from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the holiday period, and unmanned civil service issuance machines can be used at 23 locations including the 24-hour outdoor issuance machine located in the citizen square, township offices, Ttangkkeut Port, and Usuyeong Port.
The Namdo Regional Memorial Park, which is frequently visited by ancestral grave visitors, will close only the crematorium (Hanulwon) on the holiday, the 10th, while the enshrinement facilities and natural burial sites will operate. Operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (until 5 p.m. on the 10th).
Governor Myeon Hyun-gwan said, “We will strive to minimize administrative gaps by operating the situation room during the Lunar New Year holiday and implementing thorough measures in each sector,” adding, “Although the economic difficulties are not easy, I hope everyone has a warm and comfortable holiday with family and neighbors.”
