Controversy Over 'Sangdodeok' Erupts for YouTuber with 660,000 Subscribers
"My Fault for Not Thinking Deeply" Posts Lengthy Apology Letter
A famous YouTuber, who faced controversy over 'business ethics' for preparing to open a new Tanghulu store next to an existing one, has ultimately posted an apology and decided to halt the opening. On the 18th, Jin Jarim, a popular YouTuber with 660,000 subscribers, posted a lengthy apology on the channel community, stating, "I apologize for causing discomfort to those who supported and showed interest in my startup, regardless of right or wrong and responsibility."
He stated, "The Tanghulu store I was planning to open will be 'temporarily suspended,' and I deeply acknowledge my responsibility for this matter and will not open the store at the current location."
He continued, "I fully empathize and apologize for the potential harm that could have been caused to the owner of the A Tanghulu store and many others," admitting, "When starting the Tanghulu business, I proceeded without thoroughly considering how much demand there is within the commercial area based on the product’s characteristics, how the surrounding commercial district is formed, and what positive or negative factors might arise from my startup." He added, "It was my fault to overlook the fact that it could negatively impact the livelihood of the A Tanghulu store owner."
He also corrected some unverified rumors. Jin Jarim emphasized, "The claim that I deceived the real estate agent and landlord to open the Tanghulu store is completely false. When I was introduced to the landlord, I clearly explained my plan to open a Tanghulu store," and stressed, "The people I mentioned during my live broadcast as potential daily part-time workers for the store were merely hopeful candidates I listed, and they have no actual connection to this matter."
Previously, on the 13th, Jin Jarim uploaded a video titled 'Revealing the Location Name of Jin Jarim’s Tanghulu Store' on his YouTube channel. The Tanghulu store was planned to be located in a commercial building in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province. However, controversy arose after it was revealed that a similar store was nearby, and as criticism grew, Jin Jarim eventually posted an apology.
