Lotte Insurance Offers Premium Discounts to 2,188 National Merit Recipients and Their Families

Lotte Insurance announced on the 10th that since 2021, 2,188 customers have been receiving insurance premium discounts as national merit recipients.

Lotte Insurance has been implementing the 'National Merit Insurance Premium Discount System' since 2021. As of the end of last year, a total of 2,188 national merit recipients and their bereaved families or relatives have received insurance premium discounts.

This system is available to insured persons who are registered as national merit recipients or their bereaved families or relatives with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs under the 'Act on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State.'

When subscribing to a new insurance service (product), if verified as eligible for the national merit insurance premium discount through supporting documents, a 3% discount is applied to the business premium from the initial premium. Lotte Insurance prioritizes underwriting reviews for eligible customers to ensure prompt insurance enrollment.

Lotte Insurance is carrying out 'social contribution through business' to create social value in its core operations. This aims to conduct more practical social contributions through insurance services and continuously fulfill social responsibilities.

Following the launch of 'let:hero Firefighter Insurance,' a dedicated insurance service (product) for firefighters who were in the blind spots of private insurance in November 2020, the company introduced 'let:hero Medical Staff Insurance,' a dedicated insurance service (product) for approximately 1.1 million medical workers who contributed to COVID-19 response, in October 2022.

A Lotte Insurance official stated, “The national merit insurance premium discount system is a tribute to the sacrifice and dedication of the heroes who protected the Republic of Korea,” adding, “We will continue to develop social contribution insurance services (products) that express respect and gratitude for the dedication of heroes, such as Firefighter Insurance and Medical Staff Insurance.”
