Paratech, a specialized fire protection equipment company, announced on the 12th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Deokyang Eco, a company possessing graphene technology, to establish a mutual cooperative relationship including business expansion through technological partnership. Paratech plans to promote the application of graphene, known as the material of the future, in the fire protection field starting with this MOU with Deokyang Eco.
Deokyang Eco, which signed the MOU with Paratech, began research on graphene production in 2019 and has secured technology that enables the addition of graphene dispersion and functionalization techniques. Deokyang Eco is developing various flame-retardant materials utilizing graphene technology.
Based on pump technology, Deokyang Eco is also developing and producing mobile fire pumps and mini fire trucks. The company has continued research and development in the fire safety field, including participating in the configuration of fire protection equipment for fire suppression in nuclear power plants.
Through this MOU, Paratech plans to utilize the technology possessed by Deokyang Eco in the fire safety sector. The company explained that it will develop fire protection products based on flame-retardant materials using graphene and maximize the operating temperature range of fire-fighting robots that must operate at high temperatures during fire incidents.
A Paratech official stated, “The fire protection market is a very conservative market formed according to laws and regulations. Paratech, with 50 years of history as a leading fire protection equipment company, is at the forefront of developing various new technologies such as fire-fighting robots, ESFR (Early Suppression Fast Response) sprinklers, and high-capacity sprinkler heads.”
He added, “As interest in disaster response systems, including the distribution of fire-fighting robots at disaster sites, has recently increased, we will strive to advance fire protection technology to improve fire safety levels.”
