The 21st group gained attention by carrying out various eco-friendly activities using Lock&Lock products, ranging from tumblers to food storage containers, such as the ‘Zero Waste Container Challenge’ and ‘Reducing Disposable Delivery Items.’ The eco-friendly project videos they produced can be viewed on Lock&Lock’s official YouTube channel.

They also held various offline events. They engaged in environmental protection activities by plogging at the Seoul Forest Lunchbox Park, created by Lock&Lock, and experienced the ‘Goodbye Disposable Cup Challenge’ to reduce disposable cup usage, as well as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) special lectures.

At the Green Mate completion ceremony held after the three-month journey, team presentations on eco-friendly project achievements, certificate awards, and recognition of outstanding participants and teams took place. The Best Team Award was given to the Lock Star team, and the Best Participant Award was received by Lim Juwon, a student from Konkuk University.

Student Lim Juwon shared, “I personally experienced positive changes, such as more acquaintances starting to carry tumblers after seeing my social media posts encouraging the Goodbye Disposable Cup Challenge,” and added, “It was truly a happy time to see a company genuinely committed to the environment and university students come together to create a positive influence.”

A Lock&Lock representative said, “We are grateful to the 20 Green Mates who practiced eco-life for three months and took the lead in spreading environmental protection and resource circulation culture,” and added, “Any university student residing in Korea who is interested in eco-friendly activities and has creative ideas can apply to be a Green Mate, so we hope for much interest and participation in the recruitment of the 22nd group next year.”
