Review of Diversity Education 'Mirae School' and Others
The Gwangju Education Civic Cooperation Promotion Group (hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Group) announced on the 5th that it will hold a forum at 3 p.m. on the 6th to gather opinions on the establishment of the Gwangju-type public alternative school.
The forum was organized to facilitate the smooth implementation of the 'Establishment of Public Alternative School,' one of the pledges of the 4th directly elected superintendent of education. The project has been under policy research since the second half of 2022 after establishing an implementation plan for the pledge.
This forum is part of the second research conducted this year on the theme of 'Establishment and Operation System Construction of Gwangju-type Public Alternative School.'
Teachers, students, parents, citizens, and organizations interested in alternative education can participate, gathering to share and collect opinions together.
The Promotion Group plans to specifically prepare the establishment and operation directions and support measures for the Gwangju-type public alternative school through this forum. Furthermore, the new public alternative school is intended not merely to add another public alternative school but to serve as an experimental implementation of future education and a catalyst for change in Gwangju education as a future school, alternative school, and innovation-leading school.
Ha Jeong-ho, head of the Gwangju Education Civic Cooperation Promotion Group, said, “We will do our best to ensure that diverse education, which the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education aims for, such as linking with the high school credit system, can be realized when establishing the Gwangju-type public alternative school.”
