LIG Nex1 (CEO Kim Ji-chan) received the Presidential Citation for quality innovation in the defense industry sector.
On the 19th, LIG Nex1 announced that it was awarded the highest honor in the defense quality management field, the ‘Presidential Citation,’ at the Korea Science and Technology Center on the 28th, given to companies with outstanding quality management achievements in the defense industry.
Now in its 9th year, this award is a recognition system established to encourage innovation activities in defense quality. The Defense Quality Management Award has been presented every three years since 2004 to enhance the motivation for quality management improvement across the defense industry and to spread excellent quality management models.

The Defense Technology Quality Institute stated, “LIG Nex1 systematically defined and operated processes for product development, production, support, and safety quality verification,” explaining the reason for the award.
They also explained, “The company was recognized for its significant contribution to enhancing national defense capabilities based on outstanding competencies in defense quality management, including smartization and automation utilizing Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.”
At the award ceremony, LIG Nex1 received the Presidential Citation, and individuals including Jeong Jae-pil, Quality Operations Team Leader; Kim Bo-hyun, Customer Support Team Leader; and Cheon Bang-yul, Production Quality Team 2 professional, each received individual citations. Additionally, the company obtained the DQ Mark certification. The DQ Mark is a system that certifies technology and quality for products with excellent export potential to promote the export of military supplies.
