As the increase in medical school quotas becomes a reality, an opportunity has been created to look ahead at the future of South Korea's medical community following the adjustment of medical school quotas.
The National Academy of Medicine of Korea and the Korean Medical Biojournalists Association announced on the 21st that they will hold the "1st National Academy of Medicine of Korea and Korean Medical Biojournalists Association Media Forum" on the 23rd under the theme "Adjustment of Medical School Quotas and the Future of Korean Healthcare."
The forum, held on the afternoon of the 23rd at the main building of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, will feature Professor Park Eun-cheol from Yonsei University College of Medicine's Department of Preventive Medicine presenting on "The Present and Future of Physician Workforce," followed by Woo Bong-sik, Director of the Healthcare Policy Research Institute, discussing "The Desirable Direction of Medical School Quota Discussions," and Park Jung-shin, Deputy Director of Seoul National University Hospital, speaking on "Competency-Based Residency Training and Essential Medical Services." In the second part, a panel discussion and open debate on the adjustment of medical school quotas and the future of Korean healthcare will follow.
