Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do Hosts Lecture by Professor Song Chang-young of Gwangju University
Professor Song Chang-young of Gwangju University will give a lecture at the 21st Century Jangseong Academy held on the 16th.
According to Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do on the 12th, Professor Song, an expert in disaster safety, is actively engaged as a policy advisory member for disaster safety at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and as an advisory member for disaster safety project evaluations.
He has received the Presidential Commendation, Presidential Citation, and the Minister of the Interior and Safety Citation. His major publication includes "Song Chang-young's Disaster and Ethics."
In this lecture, he will introduce the impacts of unprecedented climate disasters and new types of large-scale safety accidents on the construction safety sector through various case studies.
He will then discuss the importance of advancing construction safety through social and institutional improvements and raising safety awareness among members of society.
The social education program "21st Century Jangseong Academy," which holds the world record for the longest continuous operation, is held every first and third Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. in the small theater of the Jangseong Culture and Arts Center.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis without prior registration, and real-time attendance is also possible via the Jangseong-gun YouTube channel.
