Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 31st that it recently signed the first donation agreement (Store No. 1) with Gallery Cafe Orijae (CEO Lee Jaehap), located in Hongje 3-dong, to participate in the ‘Seodaemun Sharing 1% Miracle Fund’ project.
This is a virtuous cycle welfare project that collects a portion of small business owners’ profits to be used for vulnerable groups, where the ‘1%’ symbolizes a small act of sharing. The district signs agreements with stores that voluntarily wish to donate a portion of their annual or monthly profits. Participating stores display the ‘Sharing 1% Miracle’ certification plaque and receive tax benefits for their donations. The font used for the plaque was donated as a talent contribution by calligrapher Lee Wan, adding special meaning.
CEO Lee Jaehap of Orijae, participating as the first store in this project, said, “I hope that this small 1% sharing will help in making Seodaemun-gu 100% happy.”
At the plaque ceremony held on the 27th, about 50 people attended, including Mayor Lee Seongheon, CEO Lee Jaehap, members of the Seodaemun Sharing 1% Miracle Fund Promotion Committee, Lee Gukno, chairman of the Seodaemun-gu Social Welfare Council which manages the sponsorship funds, local small business owners, and residents.
Mayor Lee Seongheon of Seodaemun-gu emphasized, “I thank CEO Lee Jaehap for opening the door to the Sharing 1% Miracle, and I hope the culture of sharing will gradually spread to the 2nd and 3rd stores. Such donations will also be a great force in establishing a welfare system that firmly supports the entire life cycle of our residents.”
