The Seongnam Jungwon Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 30th that Jeon has been booked on charges of child abuse.
Jeon is accused of hitting A, a middle school student and Nam's nephew, multiple times with a golf club at Nam's mother's house in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam City, between late August and early last month. The police are investigating the case after receiving a report from a child protection agency. It is known that the police have secured statements from A and officials from the agency.
In addition, the police are investigating complaints and accusations of fraud against Jeon. Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, said at a regular press briefing on the same day, "The National Investigation Headquarters will comprehensively assess the severity and conduct the investigation as swiftly and strictly as possible."
Previously, the loan fraud attempt complaint filed against Jeon at the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul and the app development investment fraud complaint filed at the Songpa Police Station were consolidated at Songpa Police Station. On the 27th, Songpa Police Station summoned the complainant for questioning regarding the app development investment fraud. It is understood that no additional complaints or accusations have been made against Jeon so far.
