Korea Expressway Corporation and the Expressway Scholarship Foundation announced on the 30th that they will be accepting applications for the 'Hope Dream Program' from November 1 to December 3.
The Hope Dream Program is a project that provides rehabilitation assistance funds of 2 million KRW to severely disabled victims who have suffered expressway-related accidents in traffic accidents or construction and maintenance sites, and who are basic livelihood security recipients or belong to the lower-income bracket. The recruitment target is about 50 people.
To apply, applicants or their representatives can refer to the websites of the Expressway Corporation and the Expressway Scholarship Foundation and submit the application form and accident proof documents by mail. Afterwards, the corporation will select the final recipients through document screening and other processes, and plans to provide rehabilitation assistance funds in December.
The Expressway Corporation established the Expressway Scholarship Foundation in 1996 to support expressway accident victims and their families. Until last year, it has provided scholarships totaling about 10.9 billion KRW to 6,579 scholarship students. In addition, it operates various support projects such as employment assistance and psychological treatment.
Son Jin-sik, chairman of the Expressway Scholarship Foundation, said, "We hope that this Hope Dream Program will be of some help to those who have become disabled due to expressway accidents," and added, "We will continue to promote various welfare projects by preparing practical support measures."
