The Resident Participation Performance is SH Corporation’s representative resident-participation cultural event, now in its 9th year. Over the past eight years, it has established itself as a festival where performance participants, local residents, and corporation employees enjoy together. This year’s event will be themed “Together gathered by art, love created together, happiness shared together,” aiming to explore the meaning of a neighborly community united through art via a joyful competition rather than rivalry.

Eligibility to participate is open to all residents of SH Corporation’s rental housing, and local residents can also participate if accompanied by rental housing residents. For teams of three or more, at least 30% of members must be rental housing residents, and for one- or two-person teams, all members must be rental housing residents. Anyone can attend the performance on the day of the event, and various prize events and congratulatory performances are also prepared.

The participation categories include dance, singing, theater, musical performance, and individual talents based on cultural arts, with no thematic restrictions as long as offline performances are possible. Applications are being accepted on the Resident Participation Performance website until the 13th of next month. When submitting works, brief information such as team name, number of members, and video theme must be entered, and the video submission should be sent via email. This year, to revitalize exchanges among local residents weakened by COVID-19, priority selection benefits will be given to large group teams, and all applying teams will receive a small prize.

SH Corporation will conduct a preliminary screening of the submitted works and announce the 10 teams advancing to the finals on the 20th of next month. Then, on Saturday, December 2nd, the final rankings will be announced through an offline competition among the finalist teams, and all finalists will be awarded. SH Corporation plans to award a grand prize of 3 million KRW to one team, a best prize of 2 million KRW to one team, an excellence prize of 1 million KRW to one team, encouragement prizes of 600,000 KRW to two teams, popularity prizes of 500,000 KRW to two teams, and consolation prizes of 300,000 KRW to three teams, ensuring that all teams reaching the finals can reap the fruits of their efforts.

Kim Heon-dong, President of SH Corporation, said, “Following last year’s Resident Participation Performance, which was filled with the passion of teams braving the cold weather, I look forward to seeing participants with diverse charms take the stage as artists again this year,” and added, “I hope this event will serve as an opportunity to revitalize exchanges among local residents that had been subdued due to COVID-19.”
