The Goryeong-gun Tourism Council in Gyeongbuk conducted an autumn environmental cleanup activity on the 26th along the Hoecheon and Anrimcheon (Illyanggyo) areas to create a clean river environment.
The Goryeong-gun Tourism Association in Gyeongbuk intensively collected underwater river trash using the amphibious vehicle 'Argo'.
On this day, about 50 executives and members of the Tourism Council, including Kim Yong-hyun, chairman of the Goryeong-gun Tourism Council, participated in a nature protection campaign, focusing on collecting not only household waste around the river but also underwater trash in the river, working hard to improve the local environment.
In particular, this natural cleanup activity attracted much attention by using the amphibious vehicle ‘Argo’ to collect underwater waste in areas difficult for people to access.
Kim Yong-hyun, chairman of the Goryeong-gun Tourism Council, said, “We thank everyone who worked hard for the local cleanup activities,” adding, “We expect the Argo (amphibious vehicle) to become a representative experiential tourism product of Goryeong,” and “In the future, it will be used not only for natural cleanup activities but also for various purposes such as wildfire suppression equipment and lifesaving.”
The amphibious vehicle ‘Argo’ participated in the ‘2023 Hapcheon Vacation Festival’ last August, gaining much interest and popularity among tourists.
