Daesung Energy (CEO Yoon Hong-sik) signed a comprehensive and strategic cooperation agreement with KT Daegu Gyeongbuk Headquarters (Head An Chang-yong) on the 30th at the KT Buk Daegu building in Goseong-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu.
This agreement was promoted for mutual growth through cooperation between Daesung Energy (Daesung Group), which has accumulated over 70 years of expertise and experience in the energy industry, and KT, a leading company in Korea's information and communication technology (ICT) and digital platforms.

The two companies agreed to closely collaborate in discovering new energy convergence businesses linked with ICT such as 5G communication technology, IoT (Internet of Things), and AI (Artificial Intelligence), including smart urban gas safety management, renewable energy and electric vehicle charging, energy efficiency, as well as in consumer safety, customer service, and customer marketing fields.
Daesung Energy plans to develop more diverse low-power IoT services than currently available by utilizing the KT-LTE corporate dedicated wireless network already established in the urban gas safety management sector, along with the LTE-based IoT service eMTC (enhanced Machine Type Communication).
Additionally, Daesung Energy intends to actively cooperate with KT in building IoT smart pipeline networks and using AI robots for worker safety. They are also considering actively utilizing KT's energy platform in energy superstation construction projects that leverage CNG charging infrastructure, such as hydrogen, electric vehicle charging business, and distributed fuel cells.
Yoon Hong-sik, CEO of Daesung Energy, said, “The energy sector, traditionally considered a conventional industry, is actively advancing toward high-tech by utilizing ICT to improve management efficiency and expand safety management.
