Fam Tour Held at Masan Chrysanthemum Festival Site
Creating Opportunities for Promotion and Tourism Revitalization
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam conducted a blog and social media press tour for the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival at the 3·15 Haeyang Nuri Park under the theme "Meeting Autumn in Changwon."
The event, held on the 28th, aimed for the Changwon city blog and social media reporters to preview the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival site and promote it through social networking services (SNS), thereby contributing to tourism revitalization.
Changwon Special City conducted a blog and social reporter group fam tour for the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival.
The main programs of the press tour were divided into four categories: exhibition, experience, promotion, and performance. ▲Three exhibition sites including chrysanthemum bonsai ▲Fifteen chrysanthemum flower-making experience sites and two youth-linked experience sites ▲Twenty promotional booths for local specialties, tourism, and key projects ▲Participation of local artists in cultural performances (including traditional Korean music, instrumental performances, and dance) were conducted in order.
On the day, over 30 blog and social media reporters covered the various attractions throughout the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival site, and the content will be disseminated nationwide through Changwon city’s official social media channels and the reporters’ personal SNS accounts.
Jeon Hyoju, who participated in the press tour, said, “The Masan Chrysanthemum Festival, celebrating its 23rd year this year, is filled with diverse events and attractions befitting Korea’s top festival. I will actively promote the various charms of the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival site that I learned about today through SNS channels.”
Lee Yujeong, the public relations officer, stated, “Since the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival is becoming the region’s largest tourist destination, we organized this press tour to deliver news from the citizens’ perspective. We hope that the Masan Chrysanthemum Festival will serve as a catalyst to revitalize various tourism resources in Changwon.”
The 2023 Changwon Special City press corps consists of a total of 61 members, including 31 blog reporters and 30 social media reporters. Since the inauguration ceremony in December last year, they have been covering major Changwon city events such as the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival special coverage, communicating with citizens through monthly blog articles and SNS content.
